Hard Drive Removal,
Packaging and Shipping Instructions:
The instructions below will help walk you
through removing your Hard Drive, packaging and shipping your Hard
Drive to
COMP-NET SOLUTIONS.
CAUTION!
COMP-NET SOLUTIONS
are not responsible for lost or damages to
the drives due to shipping and handling or recovery procedure.
Hard Drives are extremely fragile and should be handled
accordingly to our instructions below.
Removing your Hard
Drive:
-
Have a qualified technician remove the Hard
Drive from the computer or if you know how to do it you can
remove it yourself, but please take extra precautions removing
the Hard Drive.

Make sure to Discharge any Static
Electricity from your body by touching a grounded object
(grounded metal computer case, cold water pipes, Etc...).

Please remove power cord, switches and
electrical connectors that attach to your computer before
removing the Hard Drive.

Please avoid touching any circuit board or
electrical connectors on your Hard Drive and in your computer at
all times.
Packaging and
Sealing:
-
Enclose or
wrap the drive(s) in an anti-static bag, its original container
or a Hard Drive carton if you have one or carton larger than 5"
x 8" x 10".

The Hard Drive should
be put in a shipping carton with a minimum of 2-inch packing
material between the drive and the carton to avoid damage during
shipping. If you are sending more than one drive, please use a
separate container or bag for each drive and it should be
packaged with foam rubber or large bubble wrap between each
drive.

You can also
use large bubble wrap, but make sure to wrap it at least 2 times
around and it should be taped securely. Do not use small
bubble wrap or newspaper. Use small bubble wrap or newspaper to
fill any empty space in the shipping carton, and make sure to
package it tightly.

Wrap with
2-inch thick foam rubber or use large bubble wrap, but make sure
to wrap it at least 2 times around and it should be taped
securely in a corrugated box would be best result.

Please seal
seams and flaps with pressure-sensitive plastic tape. Tape
should be at least 2" or wider.

Please don't
use cellophane tape, masking tape, string or rope. Also avoid
duct tape and kraft-paper tape.

Please use
insulation if possible to protect perishables from extreme
temperature changes.

Please
include a copy of the filled out form in the shipping carton
with the Hard Drive.
Shipping and Return
Charges:
-
Please make sure you meet all the
requirements on this Data Recovery Services page before sending
your drive to us. Enclosed a detailed description of how the
data was corrupted, (Formatted, FDisk, Virus Attack, Software
Failure, Accidental Deletion of Files, Missing Partitions,
etc...), if any attempts were made to recover the data prior to
it being sent to us, and your company information (person to
contact, phone number, return address). Also please enclosed a
File Systems if you know it like; Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP
for Fat, Fat32 & NTFS. Please Note: There will be
additional fees (charged by the hour) if you don't know the
directories and - or file names. This fee is for time spent
searching for your files or directories. Also there will be a
$10.00 handling fee for all orders that are sent in.

COMP-NET SOLUTIONS is not be responsible for shipments for which the
carrier cannot provide proof of delivery. You should choose a
carrier who will be able to trace the shipment.
Preferably FedEx, DHL, UPS, Certified U.S. Postal Service,
courier, or any other traceable method. FedEx will be the
fastest nationally and DHL internationally.

You must pay
for shipping and for return shipping charges before sending your
drive(s) to
COMP-NET SOLUTIONS. NO COLLECT SHIPMENTS WILL BE
ACCEPTED - COD. COMP-NET SOLUTIONS will charge you for the
Return shipment(s) of the Data Recovery and your old drive(s)
back to you if you wish.

codes.
